Discover the amazing history of Mont-Dauphin and the defensive system designed by Vauban. Underground, arsenal and powder magazine will reveal their treasures. Mont-Dauphin is a fortified village listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for Vauban's fortifications.
Throughout the year, the team takes you on a tour of this mountain stronghold.
The tour includes outdoor stops (ditches, fortifications) and visits to the interior of the old military buildings (lunette d'Arçon and its underground, arsenal, powder magazine, the roof of the Rochambeau barracks).
Unusual elements of Mont-Dauphin can be discovered during these guided tours such as the underground of the lunette d'Arçon, 113 meters long, which allowed the soldiers to discreetly reach this element of fortification essential to the defense of the site.
The fortified village of Mont-Dauphin is home to other treasures, such as the Philibert Delorme-style framework of the Rochambeau barracks, as well as a plan-relief of the fortress, nearly 4 meters in scale.

Free entry for children under 26, Job-seeker, disabled people and accompanying persons.
The monument is free on European Heritage Days (3rd weekend in September) and on the 1st Sunday of the month from November to March.
It is possible to take out a combined offer: guided tour of the fortifications + Little Big Horn, by Ousmane Sow, on the same day. The price is €12 for individual admission, €9.5 per person for groups.
