Gone are the postcards. Mountain biking isn’t a Sunday pastime, it’s a lifeline downhill. The light is rawer, the trails wilder, and every outing brings a smile to your face, one that sticks long after you’ve let go of the handlebars.
Bike parks
the cult of downhill riding
Welcome to the realm of lift-access. The bike parks of the Hautes-Alpes offer an infinite variety of terrain, tracks that are chopped to the chord, modules that call out for style, and banked turns where you can feel the rubber sing. Vars, Montgenèvre, Serre Chevalier, Les Orres… it doesn’t matter whether you’re sending out the big guns or discovering your first jumps, the mountains welcome you with the same taste of exhilaration.

La Grande Traversée des Hautes-Alpes
unfiltered adventure
The GTHA is the wild version of mountain biking. Over 350 km of pure commitment, mountain passes to swallow, suspended singletracks and landscapes that change to the rhythm of your pedal strokes. It’s a journey that wears on the thighs, but feeds the soul. A diagonal told like an epic: dust on your calves, sunrise over the crests, endless descents where you lose all sense of time.

FFC sites
the infinite training ground
Looking for the perfect spot to ride, progress and send off without ever getting bored? The FFC (Fédération Française de Cyclisme) accredited sites in the Hautes-Alpes are designed as life-size training grounds. Each loop is an excuse to hone your riding skills, find new flow trails or just let yourself be carried away by the sheer pleasure of riding. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, these sites guarantee an authentic ride, far from the noise and close to the essentials.

Mountain bike highlights

Dévoluy, Buëch
Raid VTT Les Chemins du soleil
Between Gap and Sisteron, where the mountain rises and the rock plays hard to get, lies a mythical playground for crampon enthusiasts: the Chemins du Soleil. This mountain bike raid is a bit like the Holy Grail for mountain bikers: three to four days of roaming, 200 km of trails that are sometimes rolling, sometimes downright technical, with the added bonus of breathtaking panoramas of the Écrins and Dévoluy.
On the trails, no hysterical stopwatches or smooth asphalt: a succession of forest single-tracks, alpine passages, arm-tingling descents and calf-boosting climbs. This is mountain biking in a nutshell, for those who love the effort as much as the beer shared afterwards.

Hautes-Alpes
Alps Epic
Every year, theAlps Epic returns to the heights of the Hautes-Alpes. A demanding marathon-style format that combines sport, adventure and awe-inspiring scenery.
On the program: kilometers of single tracks and breathtaking panoramas. A unique cocktail of mountain biking, conviviality and pure mountain spirit. The Hautes-Alpes like you’ve never ridden them before, like a pro!
