An industry with a future

Often associated solely with tourism and agriculture, the Hautes-Alpes department has managed to broaden its economic horizons. Over the past ten years, the local industrial fabric has seen remarkable growth, based on high value-added sectors such asagrifood, renewable energies, aeronautics and construction.

Industrial territories
in Hautes-Alpes

A few months after being awarded the label as part of the second phase of the Territoires d’industrie 2023-2027 program, the Hautes-Alpes is stepping up the pace in the field. The program is structured around several priorities: land management and attractiveness, ecological transition and resources, innovation and R&D, structuring of industries, skills and training. In concrete terms, some twenty projects have already been launched. These include the rehabilitation of brownfield sites and the modernization of new production units.

Towards a CSR framework
territorial

In addition to supporting projects, the steering committee intends to place the approach in a broader perspective, with the 2030 Winter Olympics in its sights. A project is currently underway to create a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR ) framework adapted to local conditions. The aim is to make social and environmental performance an essential criterion for access to public and private contracts, and for the granting of financing.

Training
and attracting talent

The dynamic also relies on the human factor. The annual Industry Week event, aimed at secondary school students, attracts more and more young people every year. This is an encouraging sign for a region seeking to boost its attractiveness and prepare the next generation for the rapidly changing industrial professions.
