The Chalet refuge du pré de madame Carle is located at the foot of Mont Pelvoux and the Ecrins, above the village of Ailefroide, on the exact spot where the Glacier Noir and the Glacier Blanc once met. It's a natural base camp for exploring this mythical area, with easy access to the glaciers and an ideal starting point for your hikes. Access by car during the summer months.
Restaurant service at lunchtime and refreshment bar during the day. Dinner is served at 7pm (single menu: starter-main course-dessert). Breakfast at a time agreed with the manager the day before. Rooms and dormitories are equipped with warm bed covers. Sheets are provided in the rooms. Please bring a sheet for dormitory nights. The refuge does not provide towels. Sanitary facilities are shared, with hot showers available. The refuge provides bottled water for guests. The refuge is powered by solar energy and a generator. Please bring your own headlamps and battery rechargers. There is no cell phone network at Mme Carle's. There is no wifi, but a satellite phone is available if you need it.
