The customer base in the Hautes-Alpes is characterized by a strong majority of French visitors (70%), nearly a third of whom are from the region, and by an ever-increasing proportion of foreign visitors (30%), mainly Belgian, Dutch, English and Italian. The profile is increasingly youthful, with 47% under 35. The loyalty of visitors is remarkable, with 91% returning regularly.

In terms of activities, downhill skiing remains the leading winter activity, with 84.5% of holidaymakers taking part, confirming the region’s sporting and mountain image. In all seasons, the renewed and ever-growing popularity of activities such as mountaineering, climbing, whitewater rafting and, of course, cycling make the Hautes-Alpes a region more in tune than ever with the expectations of new generations.
