OLYMPIC GAMES 2030
In the French Alps, the Southern and Northern Alps are joining forces to create an unprecedented fresco for the 2030 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games. At the heart of this alliance, the Hautes-Alpes set the stage with its peaks.

Mouths of the Alps
What brings local people together: slope, relief, altitude and climate. A way of life that builds character.

Nature sentinels
From the Écrins National Park to the Queyras and Baronnies Provençales Regional Nature Parks, nature reserves and biodiversity sanctuaries, the Hautes-Alpes is a sentinel of nature in an era of upheaval.

Winter games, summer games
Between luminous peaks and secret valleys, the Hautes-Alpes offers some of the most beautiful outdoor spots in the world. Mountaineering, climbing, paragliding, whitewater, skiing or cycling… each activity has its own space, each season its own color, each passion its own breath of fresh air.

A thousand-year-old heritage
Pass through villages of striking beauty and character. Here a colorful market, there a transhumance festival, there wooden barns, a pilgrimage to a sanctuary, there a music festival.

La grande tablée
A tasty stroll through the different regions of the Hautes-Alpes.

Nature and economy
With limited human pressure and reasonable, controlled development, this territory represents a model of alliance between environment and inhabitants, towards a thriftiness somewhat reconciled with nature.

Tour de France
The Hautes-Alpes is inextricably linked with the history and grandeur of the Tour de France, through the beauty of its landscapes and the remarkable exploits of the riders engraved on its mountain passes.

From verdant valleys to the highest Alpine peaks, the Hautes-Alpes is home to more than forty refuges, veritable gateways to the mountains.

Mountaineering villages
At a time when mountaineering has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, seven of the Écrins’ most famous sites (La Grave, Villar-d’Arène, Le Monêtier-les-Bains, Vallouise-Pelvoux, La Chapelle-en-Valgaudemar, Saint-Christophe-en-Oisans and Valjouffrey) are launching a joint initiative.
