Dévoluy

Verticals of light

The Dévoluy in the Hautes-Alpes region unfolds like an amphitheater of stone and light. Between its steep ridges and alpine valleys, this singular massif reveals a face both austere and fascinating, where the horizon seems to bite the sky. Here, rock is king, but life – wild or human – has found unsuspected paths.

High peaks
of limestone

L’Obiou, le Grand Ferrand and le Faraud erect their monumental silhouettes, mineral sentinels visible from dozens of kilometers away. The characteristic Pic de Bure, topped by the IRAM observatory and its futuristic antennae, watches over a plateau with a lunar appearance.

OT Dévoluy

A secret underground world

The Dévoluy hides a vast karst network beneath its scree slopes. Mysterious chouroums – rock cavities with sometimes legendary names – open up into the bowels of the mountain. At the foot of the cliffs, water resurfaces with a vengeance: the Gillardes resurgences, among the most powerful in France, gush out in crystal-clear cascades.

Between pastoralism
and ski resorts

While the vast alpine pastures have been home to flocks of sheep for centuries, today the snow-covered slopes are home to the twin resorts of La Joue-du-Loup and SuperDévoluy, where Cyprien Sarrazin, one of France’s greatest ski champions, grew up. Their contrasting architecture and four-season activities (Odycéa wellness center, sports center, Via Souterrata, four-season tobogganing, etc.) stand side by side with a discreet heritage, such as Mère Église, a humble Romanesque building that bears witness to the first villages.

Passages
and curiosities

The Col du Noyer, an ancestral route, offers a breathtaking panorama of the Champsaur valley. Further north, the Pellafol canal, an audacious structure carved out of the rock, tells of human ingenuity in the face of the constraints of the terrain. In this land of light, every path seems to lead to a story – or a mystery.

Club spiritSuperDévoluy

Superdévoluy appears as a vast playground in the heart of the massif’s limestone panoramas. A compact yet generous resort, Superdévoluy combines leisure skiing with the spirit of high altitude, with the open, sporty atmosphere typical of the southern massifs.

At La Joue du Loup, a human-scale resort renowned for its traditional wooden chalets, the Dévoluy massif opens up like a great stage where the light cuts through the ridges with almost graphic precision.
