Derby de la Meije at La Grave

The principle of the race has remained the same since its creation in 1989: starting at 3550m altitude on the Dome de la Lauze, an obligatory passing at the 3200m Ruillans pass for an arrival gate below 2000m, depending on snow conditions. Apart from these 3 points, the choice of route is up to the racer and the race is almost entirely off-piste.

You cans race on skis, snowboards, telemark skis, monoskis or with any other equipement that will slide on snow, in teams or individually, with or without a costume.

A team must consist of at least 3 people with at least one girl and 3 different types of equipement. All riders, whether fast or slow, are welcome to participate in the race. The best will finish in less than 7 min, the slowest ones might take 2 hours.

The Derby of La Meije is above all the big race on Friday but there is also many mountain workshops, a richly endowed tombola, plus music, concerts and a big party after the race.
